Here comes spring!
Here it is, March already and the shop has been very busy. Just completed a 1950 Chris Craft wheel and a '59 Imperial wheel for a prominent collector. Working on a 1938 Dodge and a 1962 Olds this week. You just never know what will come through the door! That is what makes life interesting and keeps this old gearhead happy and out of my bride's hair. Spring is just around the corner...Happy Motoring! #steeringwheelbob

Season's Greetings from Steering Wheel Bob!
I haven't blogged much lately--I've been very busy with wheels (some cool and interesting projects...I'll be sharing pictures soon) and we have family converging for an old-fashioned Christmas celebration. No matter what you celebrate, I wish you and your families nothing but health, prosperity, and happiness now and through the New Year (but perhaps Santa might bring you a box of NOS parts, too!) Never a dull moment!
Interesting business! I recently received a 1930's banjo wheel to restore. Upon inspection, I discovered that that the bezel that once surrounded the horn button was missing. My client asked if I could fabricate a bezel from scratch...I love a challenge!! The new piece looks great. When the steering wheel is finished, I'll post some photos. Business is very active and I am thankful for having such terrific clients. When I get a "thank you" call, it makes my day. Happy

Hershey 2014 was one of the best yet
Attending the Hershey AACA meet in early October, it was interesting to see many beautifully restored vehicles with cracked, tired steering wheels. It amazes me that something so visible doesn't get enough respect! Send me your wheels, guys -- I'll make them perfect! :) There were a few electric cars--tillers, no steering wheels! Even with threatening weather, it was the show of shows! My first Hershey was 1961. It was a small fraction of what it is today. Bill Harrah woul

Hershey is only a couple weeks away
I can't wait for our annual trip to Automotive Mecca! Since the early sixties, I've only missed three shows. For the last 8 or 10 years, I've either picked up or dropped off customers' wheels at the show. If you're going to be there and want to talk about your wheel (or just talk cars) drop me a line. #steeringwheelbob #hershey
